WALLA WALLA — Liz McDevitt, executive director of United Way of Walla Walla County, will step down from that position April 26 to take over as head of Helpline on May 1.

McDevitt’s 12 years at United Way give her a thorough understanding of nonprofit organizations in the Walla Walla, area, noted Helpline board president Sharon Longmire in a press release. “In accepting the position, Liz indicated that working with the neediest in a community is her passion. We are very fortunate to have her to lead our agency into the future.”
