Oregon East Symphony's season finale concert to be 'Soulful and Sublime'


PENDLETON — The Oregon East Symphony season “Soulful and Sublime” finale, will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Vert Auditorium, 500 S.W. Dorion Ave., under the direction of Conductor Anthony Spain.

Taking the stage with the OES Orchestra will be the A Sharp Players Orchestra playing the “L’Arlesienne, suite No. 2” by George Bizet. The concert will feature the chorale performing “Ave Verum Corpus” by Mozart and “Heiligmesse” by Haydn.

Young artist competition winner, Sara Baik, will be performing “Violin Concerto in E Major” by Bach.

Baik is a student of Washington State University violin professor, Meredith Arksey and has performed with the Greater Palouse Youth Orchestra and Washington State University Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, Baik was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall with the American High School Honors Performance Series and served as concert mistress in a performance with the World Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Following the concert the OES Board of Directors and staff will host the post-concert reception in the Vert Club Room.

Tickets are available at Armchair Books, the OES Office, 345 S.W. Fourth St., or at the door. Tickets are adults $20, senior/student $15, family $45.
