WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Sweets celebrated the start of the Major League Baseball season on April 1 by launching single-game ticket sales for the 2013 season.
Now, the team announced details behind the fourth annual first-pitch event that kicks off the start of every season. On May 2, the team invites fans to join them at the Columbia REA Community Room from 6-7:30 p.m. for food, drinks and special guests.
New play-by-play broadcaster Howard Hoffman will play host for the evening, and the team will welcome special guest Ken Levine. Levine is an Emmy Award-winning television personality and Hollywood writer, director and producer of popular shows (such as M*ASH, Cheers, Frasier, and Everybody Loves Raymond). Levine is also a Major League Baseball broadcasting veteran, having worked for the Baltimore Orioles, San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.
Tickets to the event are $10 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. The price of admission includes pizza, snacks and soft drinks. To purchase tickets to the event, call John Junke at 509-522-BALL, or visit the Sweets Shoppe in downtown Walla Walla.
The Walla Walla Sweets open the 2013 season of West Coast League baseball on June 5 at 7:05 p.m. against the Bend Elks.
