College Place resident, Terttu S. “Terry” Klebe, 93, passed away April 10, 2013, at her home.

Terry was born February 28, 1920, in Helsinki, Finland, to J. W. and Jenny Kyykanen Toivonen. She attended a school for dress design in Finland and worked as a seamstress, making alternations for women’s clothing. She came to this country in 1955 and made her home with her aunt and uncle in Walla Walla. On April 15, 1967, she and Donald E. Klebe married in Walla Walla. After living in Portland, Oregon and Sequim, Washington for approximately 30 years, they came back to this area, making their home in College Place since 2000.

She enjoyed knitting blankets for Children’s Hospital in Seattle and liked to read. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Portland.

She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Klebe at their home, and many friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Yru Toivonen.

The graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013, at Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. 2nd Avenue, Walla Walla, Washington. Pastor Mark Koonz of Emmanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice through Mountain View-Colonial DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
