Activities and weekly lunch menus at area senior centers
Activities offered daily at The Center at the Park, 720 Sprague Ave., include classes, meals-on-wheels, pool and cards from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. A complete listing of activities, classes and health and welfare programs may be found in the center’s monthly newsletter, available by joining the Center for an annual fee of $15.
Adult day care is provided at the Adult Day Center 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
Senior Round Table luncheons are served weekdays 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A vegetarian option and salad bar are available. Spanish is spoken. For more information call 527-3775.
This week’s menus:
Monday: Teriyaki meatballs over rice, peas, green salad, bread, apricots.
Tuesday: Turkey and gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli, fruit juice or salad, bread, cake.
Wednesday: Enchilada casserole, peas, green salad, bread, Jell-O with fruit.
Thursday: Chicken-fried steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, fruit juice or salad, bread, pudding.
Friday: Baked breaded fish, winter squash, spinach salad, roll, pears.
Lunch is served at Waitsburg Presbyterian Church, 504 Main St., Waitsburg on Tuesdays. Home-delivered meals are available. Questions: call 527-3775
Milton-Freewater and Weston seniors can enjoy hot lunches and socialize at the senior centers in Milton-Freewater and Weston. Activities are offered 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays at the Milton-Freewater Senior Citizens Center, 311 N. Main St. Hot lunches are served at noon on Tuesdays and Fridays. Bingo is 1 p.m. every Tuesday and pinochle is 7 p.m. every Friday. The Weston Senior Citizens Center on Main Street is open for social time and a hot lunch is served at noon on Wednesdays.

The suggested donation is $3.50 for meals for those 60 and older or children under 8; and $6 for those 59 and younger. Bread and milk are served with all meals. The menu for Milton-Freewater is:
Tuesday: Baked potato bar with chili and toppings, tossed salad, pickled beets, bread, cake.
Friday: Fish with tartar sauce, au gratin potatoes, spinach, carrot raisin salad, blueberry muffin, peach crisp.

Wednesday: Pork chops with mushroom gravy, mashed potatoes, applesauce, Brussels sprouts, hot rolls, cookies.
Seniors of the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla Valley offer a meal at noon Thursdays in the Milton-Freewater Elks Lodge, 611 N. Main St. Bread is served with every meal. The suggested donation is $4. The menu this week is:
Thursday: Baked beans with franks, salad, dessert.
