Walla Walla

A vehicle northbound in the 700 block of South Palouse Street about 11:34 p.m. Saturday went out of control and struck a utility pole, coming to rest on the planting strip at South Palouse Street and L Street. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, but was later located at his residence and taken into custody for investigation of driving while intoxicated and hit and run accident.

200 block east Birch Street. Vehicle windshield smashed. Apparently occurred between midnight and 1 p.m. Sunday.

1200 block Belle Street. Unknown person kicked or hit parked car, denting rear passenger side panel and trunk lid.

Walla Walla County

Deputies were called at 1:57 p.m. Saturday to the 800 block of Brickner Road for a report of a man with a gun threatening to hurt a woman in a residence. While officers were en route, dispatch reported the man had left in a vehicle. Upon arrival, the woman told deputies that she and the man had been arguing. When she said she was going to call police, the man grabbed a pistol and threatened to kill himself. The man then unloaded the pistol, threw it into a spare bedroom and then left. The man later flagged down a College Place Police officer and turned himself in. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation by a crisis response team member.

2700 block Williams Road, right rear tire on truck slashed sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Middle Waitsburg Road south of Stonecipher Road, about 9:30 p.m. Friday. Vehicle slid out of control on wet pavement while negotiating curve, went off road and stuck tree. No injuries reported.

Milton-Freewater

300 block North Main Street, glass entrance doors broken.

Umatilla County

84000 block Tum A Lum Road, 7:11 a.m. Saturday. Man reported severe damage to neighbor’s fence apparently by a vehicle which was left parked on different neighbor’s lawn. Vehicle reportedly had substantial front end damage and windows broken out.

Eric W. Horton, 23, 534 Palouse St., Apt. 7, Sunday. Charge: investigation of driving while intoxicated.

Shawn A. Crump, 21, no verified address, Sunday. Charge: investigation of first-degree assault.
