Get facts! Quit drinking Democrats’ Kool-Aid

Obama’s record, better than George W. Bush’s? Let’s set the record straight.

Bush came into office in January 2001. The high-tech bubble had just burst and the country was in recession. CNN reported evidence showing that Bush inherited Clinton’s recession. That ended the surpluses the Democrats always talk about.

Then 9/11 happened, the Bush administration moved rapidly to step up security, TSA, Homeland Security, war on terror, etc. The U.S. did not have the cash to fund all of this so borrowing increased for national security.

When Bush came into office the debt was $5.727 trillion. In March 2009, less than two months after Obama took office, the debt hit $11 trillion. Bush added about $5 trillion to the national debt in eight years with the programs mentioned above and two wars. Obama has added $6 trillion in four years and if the Republicans had not won the Congress in 2010, just think what Obama, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would have spent.

Now about the two wars the Democrats accuse Bush of starting. Homework will show that in 1998 Clinton, Madeline Albright, John Kerry, Colin Powell and most Democrats were telling the world Iraq had WMD’s. Check it out at Bush kept Colin Powell, Clinton’s chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff and appointed him Secretary of State because of his expertise on Iraq’s WMD.

Bush did not go to war in Iraq on his own. He went to Congress with the info the Clinton administration supplied him. The voting record of the Democrats shows almost all of them voted for the war but had real short memories when the WMDs were not found.

What two industries collapsed in 2007 and 2008? Housing and banking. The Democrats controlled the House Housing Committee (Barney Frank) and the Senate Banking Committee (Chris Dodd).

A study says Community Reinvestment Act forced banks to make risky loans. This part of the CRA was signed into law in 1999 by Clinton. Bush went to Congress 17 times to warn against the collapse of our economy, Frank and Dodd blocked any legislation. You can find this video on the website . It has the video of Fox News in 2008. Other media outlets failed to report this.

These are facts. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid the Democrats put out and you, too, will know.
