Walla Walla man charged with eluding in Friday chase

WALLA WALLA — A local man has been arrested and charged with leading a police officer on a high-speed vehicle chase for several miles north of Walla Walla last week.

Jeremy W. Roe, 30, is accused of attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, in addition to third-degree driving while license suspended or revoked. The charges were filed Monday afternoon in Walla Walla County Superior Court.

Police said Officer Kevin Braman on Friday located a van — allegedly driven by Roe who had outstanding arrest warrants and a suspended driver’s license — and tried to stop it in the 1000 block of North 13th Avenue.

The van reportedly headed north on state Route 125 at a high rate of speed, then east on Bergevin Springs Road. Then Roe fled on foot through a wheat field, according to a police report filed in court.

Braman apprehended Roe about 12:20 p.m.

Roe’s bail was set Monday at $20,000.
