WALLA WALLA — The musical “Bye Bye Birdie” will be performed by Walla Walla High School drama students with opening night at 7 May 2 in the school auditorium, 800 Abbott Road.
There will also be 7 p.m. shows May 3-4, 9-11 and 2 p.m. matinees May 4 and 11.
Rock singer Conrad Birdie travels to a small Ohio town to make his farewell TV performance and kiss his biggest fan before he is drafted.
Aspiring chemist and songwriter Albert believes he can make his fortune and marry girlfriend Rosie if he gets Conrad on the Ed Sullivan show to kiss a high school girl goodbye.
Albert’s mother is desperate to break him up with Rosie.
And Kim and Hugo, the high school steadies, live in Sweet Apple, Ohio, where most of the action takes place.
Tickets, which are $6-12, are available from 4:30-6 p.m. weekdays at the Wa-Hi box office in the auditorium lobby and will for one hour before showtime at the door.
