WALLA WALLA — A woman was charged Wednesday afternoon in Walla Walla County Superior Court with robbing an acquaintance of her cellphone this week near Lyons Park in College Place.
Breanne N. Rutherford, 20, is accused of second-degree robbery.
According to a College Place police report filed in court, Rutherford got into the car of Tasha M. Knopf before 11 p.m. Tuesday, started hitting her, then took Knopf’s cellphone from the center console and said, “This is mine now.”
Knopf had gone to the location to pick up a female who had called her saying she needed help because Rutherford had pulled a gun on her, the police report says.
It adds that Knopf and Rutherford had had “previous incidents.”
Rutherford, of Pasco, was arrested early Wednesday and booked into the Walla Walla County Jail. Bail was set at $30,000.
