Hawks takes flight as College Place high school mascot

The School Board signed off on the mascot choice as well as navy and orange for school colors.

COLLEGE PLACE — The College Place School Board has approved a new mascot and official colors for the new College Place High School.

The board unanimously supported the Hawks as the school’s mascot, and navy and orange as the high school’s colors.

Board members Marci Knauft, Brian Maiden and Susan Moulton were present for the vote Thursday during the board’s April meeting; Troy Fitzgerald and Doug Case were absent.

The district’s new high school — CP-Hi — is scheduled to start construction this summer and will welcome its first freshman class in the 2014-15 school year.
