After hearing a noise at around 1 a.m. Saturday, a female resident, 58, of the 600 block of South Second Avenue opened the door and found an unknown man standing in the storm-door threshold. She screamed and the man ran away. The incident was reported as an attempted burglary.
An amplifier and speaker box were stolen from a vehicle at the 100 block of Wilbur Avenue on Friday 12-6:30 a.m.

A two-vehicle, rear-end collision occurred at North Ninth Avenue and Cherry Street Thursday 3:31 p.m. No injuries reported.
A two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred Friday afternoon at 522 N. Ninth Avenue when Heidi Wipf, 44, drove her 2000 Ford Explorer into a light pole and unoccupied parked vehicle. Wipf was unconscious after the accident and taken to Providence St. Mary Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
