Touchet softball sweeps Liberty Christian

RICHLAND — The Touchet High School Indians softball team dismantled Liberty Christian 16-0 in five innings and edged them 12-10 here Saturday in Southeast 1B competition.

Cierra Jo McKeown led all Indians batters with eight base hits and seven runs scored.

Touchet smacked 35 hits in the two games.

“With that many hits, you’d hope that you would win both games,” Touchet coach Gary Dorman said. “But we really had to work that second game.”

Mckayla Bishop went the distance in the circle in game one, striking out six and picked up the save in game two.

Touchet (13-1 overall, 8-0 league) will play two weeks of non-league games before the district playoffs.

The Indians travel to DeSales Tuesday for a 4 p.m. start time.
