Pirates golf play at Crystal Springs Course

POMEROY — Tyson Feider medalled for Pomeroy’s boys and Teresa Meyers for the girls Saturday as Pomeroy dominated its own three-high school golf invite at Crystal Springs Golf Course in Pomeroy.

The Pirates won the boys team scoring, shooting a combined 376. Asotin came in second at 433 and Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia rounded out the meet with a 453.

Pomeroy coach Jim Greene said the weather conditons were extreme.

“We played in some real extreme wind today,” Greene said. “The scores were about as extreme as the wind conditions. It was about 58 degrees out, but wow! But we battled through it.”

Tyson Feider turned in a 12-over 74 to lead the way. Pomeroy’s Tanner Feider took second with a 97, Steven Melvoen third in 98, and Jacob Shuh tied for fifth in 107 strokes.

Meyers beat out five girls from T-O-R to take medalist with a round of 96.
