I understand the Union-Bulletin is a local paper that often places great value on local news and photos over larger, more national news stories. I respect that, even if I don’t always agree with the choices.
However, the paper really missed the boat with the front page on April 16. While the stories at the top of the page (both with local angles) were fine choices, the photo selections left something to be desired — a photo of a sparsely attended local political rally covered almost the entire width of the front page while a single photo from Boston seemed almost an after thought.
The contrast between the front page of your paper with those across the region (and the nation) is embarrassing.
Bottom line — it was a poor editorial decision and reflects poorly on the paper.
