GARFIELD, Wash. — The Pomeroy High School baseball team notched its first two league wins Saturday with 5-4 and 13-11 wins over Garfield-Palouse to close the regular season in fourth place out of five teams.
The two wins secure Pomeroy a playoff game at a date to be detemined.

In game two, the Pirates rallied for two runs in their half of the seventh to win.
Cade Gingerich walked and stole second. Taylor Lewis singled him into score the first and winning run.
The second insurance run was scored by a fielders’ choice out and two consecutive singles buy Sam Lindekugel and LaMunyan.
