Council members are Dennis Gillis, Donna Hunt, James Fuchs, Alesia Ruchert and Kaye Carlson. With all present Tuesday, the council:
TRANSPORTATION: Approved a resolution adopting the city’s six-year transportation plan. Authorized the mayor to sign a grant application to the Transportation Improvement Board for repairs for 5th and 6th Streets on Columbia.
STREET CLOSURE: Authorized closure of 7th Street from 10 a.m. on Sept. 28 until 1 a.m. on Sept. 29 for the Seeley Centennial Celebration.
WATER: Authorized Michelle Bly of Progressive Engineering to begin an application for a USDA Rural Development grant to fund the Zumwalt Expansion and Sunnyside Reservoir Replacement water projects.
GREENHOUSE GASES: Approved the city’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
RVs: Adopted ordinance amending the city’s recreational vehicle zone codes.
PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT: Ruchert reported that she has looked into toddler-friendly playground equipment, following a citizen request at the council’s last meeting. She is working on obtaining a quote from an equipment supplier so the city can determine what type of equipment to buy.
