Yolanda Denise “Dee” Rogers

March 10, 1963 – August 2, 2013

College Place resident, Yolanda Denise “Dee” Rogers,

50, passed away August 2, 2013, at Walla Walla General

Hospital, 1025 S. 2nd Avenue, Walla Walla, Washington.

Dee was born March 10, 1963, in Walla Walla, to Robert

Lee and Robbie Funches. She attended Washington

Elementary School, Garrison Middle School and Walla

Walla High School. On May 5, 2009, she and Ernest

Vaughn Rogers III married in Walla Walla. She worked as a

housekeeper, a flight attendant and in airline security.

She loved sports, always watched football on television.

She took martial arts with her brother, Charles. She enjoyed

crossword puzzles and word finds and doing arts and

crafts with her grandchildren. Dee also loved camping and

fishing and taking rides in the country with her husband.

Shopping with her daughter, Shante’, and playing Nintendo

games with Shante’ and Aisha were other favorite things

she enjoyed doing. However, nothing meant more to her

than her family.

Dee is survived by her husband at their home; two

daughters and sons-in-law: Aisha (Casey) Hunt and

Shante’ (Tony) Alfaro; one son, Halliru Gimba Amhad

Hamza; six sisters: Karen Hilliard and Silvera Pryor both

of California; Veola Lewis and Pamela Pryor both of Walla

Walla, Virgie Hardin of Spokane, Washington, and Linda

Ramirez of Portland, Oregon; one brother, Charles Pryor

also of Spokane; two granddaughters, four grandsons

and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in

death by her parents; a sister, Donna Johnson; and her son,

Rashod Nathenial Vickers.

The memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Sunday,

August 11, 2013, at Mountain View-Colonial

DeWitt, 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla,

Washington. Darius Morris of the Church of Christ

will officiate. Honorary pallbearers will be Cedric

English, Jamar Wren, Casey Hunt and Tony

Alfaro. Contributions may be made to the funeral

home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
