When it comes to campuses, Whitman College’s makes the grade, according to “Business Insider.”
The 4-year-old business and technology news website has ranked Whitman’s campus as third on its list of the 20 Best College Campuses in the U.S.
“Whitman’s Walla Walla, Wash., campus doubles as an outdoor art museum, with over 20 sculptures located around the school. The school is centered around a main quad, and was included on the Princeton Review list of Easiest Campus to Get Around,” the short bit described.
The liberal arts college was beat out by Claremont McKenna College in California for the top spot. Coming in second was Bowdoin College in Maine.
Eleven campus-related categories from the 2014 college rankings from “The Princeton Review” were examined to determine which colleges offer the best campus experience.
The categories were: best college library, great financial aid, best career services, best health services, best campus food, best college dorms, most beautiful campus, easiest campus to get around, best quality of life, town-gown relations are great, and college city gets high marks.
“There was no discernible connection between the colleges that came out on top, as they represented everything from Ivy League universities to small liberal arts colleges to technical schools,” the piece explained. “Perhaps more telling of the list’s diversity is that each one of our top five schools came from a different area of the country.”
