First Swim the Snake slated Saturday

STARBUCK — The first Swim the Snake fundraiser comes to Lyons Ferry on Saturday.

The open swim begins at Lyons Ferry Park’s swimming beach, and crosses the Snake River to Lyons Ferry Marina. Entry fee is $30, with funds benefitting the Blue Mountain Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Council, a regional non-profit and swim teams in Pomeroy and Dayton.

The course is about .7 miles, and crosses the river diagonally under the State Highway 261 bridge. Volunteers will keep swimmers on the correct route.

Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and registration closes at 10:45 a.m. The swim begins at 11 a.m. Check-out at Lyons Ferry Marina is required.
