POLICE: Approved resignation of city police officer John Thorndike. Read letter from Thorndike clarifying that he was resigning because he was contacted with a job offer he couldn’t refuse in North Dakota. Heard report that there has been a significant increase in nighttime property crime, which the department is working to address.
DOG KENNEL: Scheduled hearing date for dog kennel permit on Sept. 4 at 6 p.m.
WATER SYSTEM: Adopted water system master plan. City will begin talks with Athena about collaboration on water improvements.
CONFERENCE: Approved sending City Recorder Debi Russell to Oregon Association of Municipal Recorders conference.
GRANT: Approved resolution seeking funds from Oregon’s Special City Allotment for work on North Water Street and Williamson Road.
