MILTON-FREEWATER — The Walla Walla Road Runners are having the 37th annual Labor Day one-mile runs at 9 a.m. on Sept. 2 at Shockman Field.
The event consists of three one-mile runs: for runners who predict a time under 8 minutes; for runners who predict a time of 8 minutes and over; and for children 12 years old and younger.
There will also be a 100-meter dash for children 10 and under, and one for adults.
The run is open to both runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. For the mile, times vary from under 5 minutes to more than 20 minutes. Ages generally vary from 5 years to 80-plus years. Three or four generations of competitors are not uncommon.
A complete copy of the results will be made available to all entrants. There is no preregistration or entry fee required.
A complimentary brunch at Dawn Array on the Umapine Highway will take place after the runs, and all entrants and their families are welcome.
