Updated: School Board names finalists for seat, names tech director

The following are Walla Walla School District news releases. The first has been revised due to a School District error.

The WWPS Board of Directors named all three candidates for Max Carrera’s vacant school board position as finalists.

School board members will publically interview Todd Brandenburg, David Hampson, and Pamela McBride Tuesday, August 27 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the district office. The new board member will be named after the interviews on August 27 and sworn in Sept. 3. The new board member will stand for election in November 2015.


Walla Walla Public Schools hires new Technology Director

WALLA WALLA - Walla Walla Public Schools has named Forrest Baker as the district's new Technology Department Director. Baker replaces Kirk Jameson who recently accepted the principal position for the new College Place High School.

Baker has worked the past 16 years at Walla Walla Community College in various technology related positions, including the past four years as Assistant Director of Technology Services. Baker will lead the district in developing a new technology plan and assist with developing strategies to improve technology in classroom settings.

"I'm excited about serving as the Director of Technology for the Walla Walla Public Schools where I am committed to the overall success of the district's academic & administrative technology and supporting the future of our children through our vision of Excellence in Every Classroom," Baker said.

Baker and his wife Kristi have three children. He and his wife are actively involved in the schools and community organizations. He currently serves on the Camp Fire USA Board of Trustees.
