Longtime Walla Walla resident Don McLeod, 74, passed away Aug. 20, 2013.
Don was born May 13, 1939, in Walla Walla to Kenneth and Gladys (Buck) McLeod. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1957. He attended Whitman College for a period of time before moving on to his career as an automobile parts salesman and manager. Don worked at a number of local dealerships and parts stores including Eddy Chevrolet and Walla Walla Motor Supply before retiring from Dayl Graves.
Don enjoyed a lifelong hobby of building and flying model aircraft and was a longtime member of the Walla Walla Valley Proptwisters. He also enjoyed full-scale aircraft and attended many airshows and aircraft museums. Shooting sports were also an interest of his and he became an accomplished marksman. He served in the Army Reserves for two years at Fort Ord.
Don is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley; daughter, Tracy (Paul) Marrero; son, Daren; and two grandsons, Justin and Nicolas Marrero.
