Grape Line bus service hits milestone


The 40,000th passenger climbed aboard the Grape Line recently.

The community’s intercity bus service reached the milestone passenger number the week of Aug. 12, said General Manager Kevin Oleson.

Since starting its round-trip service between Walla Walla and Pasco in November 2007, Grape Line has averaged more than 6,800 passengers per year, Oleson said. The service has traveled more than 588,000 miles between Walla Walla and Pasco.

Operated by Whatcom County-based Airporter Shuttle/Bellair Charter, the outfit offers three daily trips to Pasco with stops in Touchet, Wallula and Burbank. In Pasco, passengers can access Greyhound, Amtrak, Ben Franklin Transit and the Pasco Airport.
