Mom's Network question: What is the best baby shower gift you ever received?

“I tend to like the sentimental gifts best. My mom gave us my dad’s baby ring at the shower for our son and then took the seed pearls and fabric from her wedding gown and fabric from my dad’s wedding tuxedo and used them to make the baptism gowns for the kids. From the ring to the baptismal outfits — they are things we hope our kids will continue to hand down.”

Staci, mom of two awesome kids

“The best advice from all 15 ladies, telling me that I should never read too many baby advice books, and to always listen to my heart and my instincts. This has proved to be priceless.”

Debbie, two children

“A Graco stroller. We have put countless miles on it with our children during daily walks, traveling through airports and getting through fussy moments when all that was needed was some fresh air.”

Andrea, two children ages 1 and 2

“Video baby monitor — never would have bought it but it was the best thing ever. And handmade gifts — nothing better than a present someone loving made for you.”

Sarah, soon-to-be-two kids

“Bag sleepers pajamas. Easy-access changing in the middle of the night.”

Kelly, mother of three

“The ergo baby carrier. I cannot imagine my life without it.”

Heidi, mother of two boys, 1 and 21/2 years old

“Diapers ... of all sizes. You can never have enough diapers, especially in the first year.”

Heather, Mama of one

“The Baby Bjorn infant carrier — great for comfort and freeing up hands, for mom and baby.”

Beth, mother of four

“The best baby shower gifts are books. Kids don’t grow out of them, they’re a great way for mom and baby to connect and you can never have too many.”

Sara, mom of two kids
