Lincoln High principal on medical leave

WALLA WALLA — Due to a medical condition, Lincoln High School Principal Jim Sporleder will not be at the helm when school starts Tuesday, the Walla Walla School District announced this morning.

He will be on leave of absence for a non-life threatening condition, the district said in a release, adding it is hoped he will resume his duties during the 2013-14 school year.

Marci Knauft, Lincoln High School special education teacher and state-credentialed administrator, will serve as the acting principal in Sporleder’s absence.
