Walla Walla stores report break-ins

WALLA WALLA — Several downtown businesses have been targeted by burglars since Friday, Walla Walla police said today.

At 7:17 a.m. on Friday, Graze restaurant at 5 S. Colville St. reported its front door had been broken and thieves took more than $100 in cash, food and beer, said Walla Walla police spokesman Tim Bennett. Damage to the door was estimated at $700.

Detectives are reviewing video taken of the area by cameras located at nearby businesses, Bennett added.

On Saturday, subjects entered H & H Sports & Loan, 203 W. Alder St., by cutting through a metal window gate and breaking a large window at 2 a.m. They returned again at 2:30 a.m., when the alarm system was activated.

Four 12-gauge shotguns were reported missing and damage was estimated at $1,000, according to police reports. Store video footage showed two people in the incident, Bennett said, but no arrests have been made.

At 8:21 p.m. on Saturday, L & G Ranch Supply, 2930 Isaacs Ave., reported its front window broken and entry into a Jeep parked behind the store. An alarm system was activated and no merchandise appears to have been taken, Bennett said.
