David Lee Swyter, age 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He will be missed greatly as he was loved by many who experienced his love for life, his wide smile and huge heart. He loved people, giving (particularly to those in need), caring and family. During his life he was a loving and giving man with a wild and playful side.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Fourth of July fireworks, visiting his grandmother, roofing, building, the freedom of riding his motorcycle and tearing stuff apart.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Swyter. He is survived by his mother, Kathy Swyter; grandmother, Iola Helsby; sister, Stephanie; brother, Mike; aunts, Linda and Jeannie, Chris and Tabitha; and a large extended family that was a very important part of his life. His fiancee, Alex, was a blessing to him, and brought joy and caring to their relationship.
Contributions may be made in David’s honor to Portland Union Gospel Mission Center, Portland Rescue Mission or any shelter for the homeless.
