Choral ‘Gloria’ concert Monday


COLLEGE PLACE — The Walla Walla Choral Society presents “Gloria” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, at Walla Walla University Church, 212 S.W. Fourth St.

Dean Luethi, artistic director for this concert and a candidate for the society’s directorship, is an assistant professor in the School of Music at Washington State University.

The concert will also feature Dr. Kraig Scott, organist and professor of music at Walla Walla University plus a large group of brass players.

They will also accompany the audience for the sing-a-long portion of the concert as well as John Rutter’s “Gloria.”

Rogers Elementary School choirs, under the direction of Patti Short are also featured guests.

In addition to “Gloria” and other Rutter favorites, compositions by Mendelssohn, Parker, Shaw and Luboff will be in the concert repertoire.

Tickets are $12 with children under 13 admitted free with an accompanying adult.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or from a Choral Society member.
