Lucille Voshell was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Parsons, Kan. She married Dale L. Voshell on Jan. 29, 1942. The Voshell’s moved to Washington in 1943. They spent twenty years in Touchet, where they raised their two children, Albert D. Voshell and Donna M. Heimbigner. Lucille spent many years raising nieces and nephews in her home. She also had a child care service in Touchet where many of the local children passed through. She and Dale had an open door policy at their Touchet home and many of the local kids used it as a “second home.” They moved to the court house in Walla Walla where Lucille was the juvenile matron of 12 ½ years. After retiring as juvenile matron, she worked for the Senior Chore Service in Walla Walla, taking care of elderly people until she retired on Aug. 11, 1995, at the age of 73.
Lucille spent her entire life as a wonderful mother, wife and caregiver of others. May she always be remembered for her kindness, loving care, and the sacrifices she made for others. “Let each one do just as he has resolved in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7. She was always giving to someone, sharing her time for the benefit of others.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Voshell; sisters, Alice Gamblain and Dorothy Ball. She leaves her two children, Donna M. Heimbigner of Spokane Valley, Wash., and Albert D. Voshell of Milton-Freewater; along with 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. To leave a condolence on-line visit: www.munsellerhodes.com.
