Bill and Virginia Henry anniversary


William “Bill” and Virginia Henry of Walla Walla recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a 28-day cruise to Hawaii and the South Pacific.

They wed on Nov. 9, 1963, at Central Christian Church in Walla Walla.

Both were employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bill as a real estate appraiser and Virginia as a secretary. In 1964 they transferred to Anchorage, Alaska, where Bill was chief appraiser for the Alaska Corps District Office and Virginia started her career as an engineering draftsman.

In 1967 they returned to Walla Walla where Bill later became chief appraiser for the Walla Walla District and Virginia continued as an engineering draftsman until retirement in 1992.

Bill retired in 1988 and worked several years part-time with Associated Appraisers of Walla Walla.

The Henrys are active members of the Walla Walla Country Club, Walla Walla Historical Auto Club, Walla Walla Sweet ‘A’s Model ‘A’ Club and Four Seasons Social Club. In retirement they have taken several cruises and trips to various parts of the world.

They have two children, William Kelly of Liberty Lake, Wash. and Debra Kelly Parsekian of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren, Lauren Parsekian Sturtevant and Brooke and Liam Parsekian.
