Downtown Walla Walla will be illuminated this weekend by the Macy’s Parade of Lights.
The parade takes place Saturday — one week after postponement due to the subzero weather snap.
The parade begins at 7 p.m. on the corner of Boyer Avenue and Palouse Street. It will proceed left on Palouse, right on Alder, right on Fifth Avenue and right on Main Street.
Vehicular traffic will be cleared off Main Street for the event. Barriers will be put up to stop traffic from entering around 4 p.m. Saturday, the Downtown Walla Walla Foundation said. Parking on all other streets will remain as it has in the past: Parked vehicles will be allowed to stay but there will be no movement during the parade. As part of an increased focus on safety this year, there will also be no candy or handouts during the parade. Barriers are expected to be removed after the parade, around 9 p.m.
