COLTON — Touchet’s boys opened their basketball season here Saturday night with a 53-47 loss to Colton.

The Indians, just a week removed from a runner-up finish in the Class 1B state football playoffs, led 20-19 at halftime and were even, 37-37, going into the fourth quarter.

“We got tired and started making some poor choices,” Touchet coach Tim McKeown said. “We put up a pretty good fight. We’ve got to get into basketball shape. I like our energy.”

Colter McKeown led the Indians with 10 points. Teammate Zach Carson snared 12 rebounds.

Touchet was scheduled to play at Rosalia on Friday, but the game was postponed. The possible rescheduling of the contest is uncertain, coach McKeown said.

Touchet’s next game is Friday at Pomeroy.
