POMEROY — Pomeroy’s boys made quick work of St. John-Endicott here Friday night, taking a 70-24 victory.

Cole Mayfield led the Pirates with 17 points, with Cody LaMunyan, Bran McGreevy and Cade Gingerich all scoring 11 in the romp.

“The Pirates jumped on St. John-Endicott early and never looked back,” Pomeroy coach Brian Koller said. “St. John-Endicott is not the quality of team that they have been in the past, and the score reflects that. It was nice to see the kids come out and jump on them early.”

The victory leaves Pomeroy undefeated on the season, as the Pirates host Touchet on Friday night.

“It’s nice to start the season 5-0, but next weekend things get a whole lot tougher with Touchet coming to town and then going to Colton on Saturday,” Koller said. “Hopefully by next weekend we will have everyone back from health issues and injuries!”
