WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla County commissioners Monday continued hearings on approval of the county’s 2014 budget and property tax levies.

The hearings, which were opened Dec. 9, will resume next Monday due to Commissioner Jim Johnson being absent for a scheduled medical procedure.

At Monday’s meeting, commissioners Perry Dozier and Greg Tompkins continued discussions of budget matters with county Auditor Karen Martin, county Treasurer Gordon Heimbigner and county Sheriff John Turner.

A workshop to continue discussions on what should be done to balance the budget is set for 9 a.m. today in the commissioners’ meeting room.
