Barry L. Pegel

Former Walla Walla resident Barry L. Pegel, 64, died Nov. 17, 2013, at his home in Bellingham, Wash. Barry and his twin sister (Barbara Pegel Preas) were born on Nov. 29, 1948, in Boulder, Colo., to Neil and Virginia Pegal. They attended Rogers Elementary and graduated from Walla Walla Valley Academy in College Place. Barry worked for his father in the HVAC business and various other industries throughout his life. Barry married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl M. Schultz, in 1969. They eventually settled in Bellingham, Wash., and other than two to three years resided there until his death. Barry leaves family and loved ones who mourn his passing; his wife of 46 years, Cheryl M. (Schultz) Pegel; sons, Leslie Pegel of Portland, and Bryan Pegael of Durango, Colo.; and four grandchildren. Also those who mourn him are his twin sister, Barbara (Mike) Preas; sister, Luanne Langer; brothers, Steve Pegel, Greg Pegel and John Pegel; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Hazel Schultz; and three brothers-in-law. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and one sister.
