Dale Beck

June 27, 1941 — July 15, 2013

Born June 27, 1941, to Susan Pauline Elsey Beck and Marion Mellin Beck in Walla Walla. Dale passed away July 15, 2013, at Providence St. Mary Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Dale loved the Milton-Freewater Valley and the people in it. With the exception of the six years he spent serving in the U.S. Army, with most of this time being stationed in Germany, Dale lived his entire life in the Milton-Freewater area. Post military discharge he lived for a short time in Hermiston, where he was employed at Marlette. Aside from that he worked for area businesses, including Ready Mix Sand & Gravel and Milton Machine Shop. Dale was an avid fisherman and spent many weekends Sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River in the Irrigon area

Surviving is his wife, Kathryn “Marie”; daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Puckett of Portland, Bonny (Ed) Jeffries of Payette, Idaho; son, Dean Beck, Fruitland, Idaho. Dale was very proud of his children and their accomplishments. Also surviving is a beloved stepdaughter, Anne (Monte) Suran of Portland; and a much admired stepson, Timothy (Angela) W. Gibbons of The Dalles, Ore.; grandchildren, Brandon Puckett, JD and Mandy Jeffries, Jensen and Carly Beck, Christopher and Stephanie Andersen, and Ally and Abby Gibbons; niece, Marlene Conner and son Patrick; nephew, Dana Beck. Predeceased by a brother, Don Beck; beloved sister, Patsy (Earl) Phillips; parents, Marion and Polly Beck; two wives, Caroline Carpenter Beck and Carolyn S. Beck.

Private graveside service will be at a later date at the Milton Cemetery.
