W-M falls to No. 1, No. 2 in same weekend

ATHENA — Weston-McEwen fell to first-ranked Irrigon Saturday, 69-50, in a Blue Mountain Conference boys basketball game.

Tyler Peterson scored 18 points and Lance Thacker added 12. The Knights (21-0) pressed for the majority of the game.

“I though we did really well against their press,” W-M coach Brian Pickard said. “We made it through the press and played with them most of the night before finally running of gas.”

W-M lost on the road to No. 2 Pilot Rock, 60-53, despite getting 19 points from Thacker and 15 from Peterson.

The TigerScots host Stanfield Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in their Blue Mountain Conference finale.
