MILTON-FREEWATER — The Milton-Freewater School Board is inviting community members to meet the three final candidates for the district’s superintendent position, while holding a special board meeting Tuesday.
Area residents will have a chance to meet the three candidates in the McLoughlin High School cafeteria starting at 5 p.m. The board will also interview the candidates in the school’s music room alternately throughout the night.
The board has scheduled for each of the three candidates to meet with the public for one hour, and briefly provide professional background information, experience, educational leadership philosophy, and answer any questions. Finalists will also alternately meet with district staff and participate in a final interview with the board during the three-hour, round-robin event.
The first candidate will meet with the public from 5-6 p.m.; the second candidate will be available 6:15-7:15 p.m.; and the final candidate will meet from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
James Reger, interim superintendent for Milton-Freewater Unified School District, is in his final year leading the district. The board aims to finish the candidate search by March 12, with a new superintendent taking over leadership on July 1, in time to start the 2013-14 school year.
The School Board will hold an executive session immediately after the conclusion of the special board meeting to discuss the final candidate interviews.
