Two arrested after landowner spots apparent thieves

WAITSBURG — Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two men for allegedly stealing tools and other items from a farm in the Waitsburg area after the landowner followed the suspected thieves.

According to a Sheriff’s Office report, a 57-year-old farmer spotted two men on his property on Bolles Road, near Waitsburg. The farmer accused the two men of stealing, but allowed them to leave when they became “confrontational.” The farmer then called 911 and followed the pair of men.

Deputies arrested Brandon Charles Sharpe, 24, and Cody Scott O’Grady, 23, at a trailer park near Maple and Murphy streets in Walla Walla. Both men were lodged at the Walla Walla County Jail on investigation of second-degree burglary and second-degree possession of stolen property.

Deputies also seized a number of “burglar tools,” according to the report.
