BOARDMAN, Ore. — Riverside dominated Mac-Hi 56-18 here Tuesday night in a girls non-league prep basketball game.
The Pirates jumped on top 11-2 after one quarter and continued to pull away throughout the course of the game.
Riverside sank six 3-pointers in the game, including four by sophomore Yvette Barrora, who led all scorers with 16 points.
Mac-Hi was led by freshman Sam Tveidt’s eight points. She also collected six rebounds for the Pioneers.
“Overall, Sam had a great game for us tonight,” Mac-Hi coach Nicole Christian said of Tveidt. “She has been working hard and putting in extra time, and it paid off. She has a lot of talent for a freshman and has stepped up her game.”
Mac-Hi, which saw its season record dip to 2-17, was guilty of 40 turnovers in the contest. The Pioneers, 0-6 in the Greater Oregon League, return to conference play Saturday when they entertain Ontario.
