COLTON — Tanner Feider scored 30 points to lead Pomeroy to a 72-52 win over Colton in the District 7/9 playoffs Saturday.

“Tanner had a career night,” Pomeroy coach Brian Koller said. “He attacked the basket well and finished. He put the ball in the hole tonight.”

Riley Bott added 17 points on eight field goals, including three 3-pointers.

Colton’s Jake Straughan tried to bring his team back in the fourth period, hitting 5-of-9 from 3-point range for 15 of his team’s 18 fourth-quarter points, but Pomeroy exploded for 27 in the period to seal the win.

Straughan had nine 3-pointers in the game for 28 points.

“We have won at Colton — just two weeks ago — but didn’t expect to beat them this bad,” Koller said. “The guys are playing really well right now and hopefully we can keep it going. Defensively, we need to keep getting it done.”

The Pirates will play LaCrosse-Washtucna Friday in Colfax at 7 p.m. for the district championship.
