Julia Child Cook-off heats up today with chocolate mousse

WALLA WALLA — The fourth annual Julia Child Cook-off takes place today from 2–4 p.m. at the Marcus Whitman Hotel & Conference Center.

Anyone can attend the $15-per-person event and taste through a custom created chocolate mousse sampler by Marcus Whitman Executive Chef Antonio Campolio, as well as a glass of wine and a chance to visit with local chefs, who will judge the amateur chocolate mousse entries in the cookoff.

Among those in attendance will be David Christensen of Colville Street Patisserie, Paul Jenes of Bright’s Candies, Sarah German of Olive Marketplace & Café and Robert Ames of brasserie 4.

Winners from previous years’ contests will also be there, including Brian Hatley and Trevor Dorland.

Muriel Kenyon of Otis Kenyon and Zach Brettler of SYZYGY will be pouring wine at the event. One glass of wine is included with the price of the ticket, but additional tickets may be purchased and traded for a refill.

Ticket are available at Book & Game Co., First Avenue and Main Street, or at the front desk in the Marcus Whitman lobby.
