LAGRANDE — Mac-Hi finished third out of nine teams at the Class 4A regional tournament here Friday and Saturday.
The Pioneers placed 10 wrestlers at the meet and nine of them placed in the top four, good enought to qualify for state next Friday and Saturday at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
Mac-Hi’s was Brayden Moller won the region at 170 pounds.
Jeffrey Jones (145) took second place and Blake Yensen finished fourth in the same class.
The Pioneers had four third-place finishers including Cole Skramstad (120), Chandler Fortune (132), Tavis Hodgen (138) and Jesus Saldana (160).
Vince Roff (152) and Alyx Shaw (126) each placed fourth.
The final placer at regionals for Mac-Hi was Chase Copenhaver (160, 5th) but was one place shy of advancing to state.
“One more week in the season to go,” Mac-Hi Beau Chester said. “We are very excited for the number of wrestlers that we are taking to state.”
