Early birds at Hot Mama’s Espresso on Wednesday won’t miss a chance to contribute to a fundraising cause, after all.
The Pine Street coffee shop is raising funds for a memorial flag to honor the late 1st Lt. Mathew Fazzari. The business will donate $1 for every drink sold that day to the cause.
An item in Friday’s Strictly Business incorrectly stated the fundraiser would only run 5 to 7 p.m. The fundraiser is actually an all-day affair, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Money raised will be used toward the purchase of a large suspended flag to be installed at the DeSales High School gym.
Fazzari, a DeSales graduate, and his co-pilot and commander Scott Pace of Brawley, Calif., were killed last June when their OH-58 Kiowa Warrior was struck by enemy fire in the Ghazni province of Afghanistan. For more details on the Hot Mama’s fundraiser, call 529-4298.
