COLLEGE PLACE — Students currently in seventh grade at College Place Public Schools will be the first freshman class to attend a new College Place High School.
The College Place School Board approved a resolution during its regular monthly meeting Thursday that names the current seventh-grade class at the first freshman class. The students will be the district’s first freshman class starting in the fall of 2014.
The district took input from students and families before making its decision, and held a public meeting Wednesday to answer questions and receive feedback.
The district is also moving forward with its application process for a principal to lead the new high school. Superintendent Tim Payne said in a news release he expects the position to be filled by July 1.
