5641 W. Highway 12 , Walla Walla
Three Rivers Winery is spicing things up with a series of cooking classes.
Chef Penny Addison will lead a series of at least four classes at the Walla Walla tasting room, 5641 Old Highway 12. The first — “The Art of Pan Searing” — is a two-hour session March 10 beginning at 3 p.m. The secrets of pan searing the perfect piece of salmon and New York steak will be divulged. A compound butter and brandy peppercorn creme for the steak will finish things off.
Participants for the $50-per-person class ($40 for wine club members) will sample wines, dine on the dishes they helped prepare and receive copies of the featured recipes. Wine will also be available for purchase by the glass for those 21 and older.
Addison most recently worked at Cameo Heights Mansion, where she prepared dishes for the guests and also taught cooking classes. Others in the works are “Small Bites/Big Flavors,” “Let’s Light it Up Flambe,” and “East Indian Curries & Chutneys.”
Dates and times on those classes will be listed on the Three Rivers website — ThreeRiversWinery.com — soon. Space is limited to 10 people per class. To register call 526-9463, extension 1, or visit the website.
