Fouls, free throws hurt Touchet girls in loss

OAKESDALE — Poor free-throw shooting down the stretch and foul trouble for two of its starters spelled doom for Touchet Saturday night as they lost, 54-48, to Tekoa-Oakesdale.

“Missed free throws killed us in the fourth quarter,” Malisa McKeown said. “And we had Cierra Jo McKeown in foul trouble early and Kristen Warner fouling out late. It was also a tough road game.”

McKeown connected for 20 points and Warner led Touchet with 11 boards.

Touchet (7-4, 4-3 SE 1B) plays again Tuesday in Richland against Liberty Christian at 6 p.m.
