PRESCOTT — A house fire Sunday morning has left a Prescott family bereft, according to reports from friends. Fire officials could not be reached for comment this morning.
Walla Walla County Dispatch Manager Steve Ruley said dispatch received the first report of the fire at 410 Touchet St., Prescott, at 10:27 a.m., Sunday.
The fire completely consumed the home of Jason and Christine Steele, according to Scott Ford, Jason Steele’s employer. The couple has four children, according to Ford, but no injuries were reported.
“They lost everything,” Ford said, adding he is part of a community-wide relief effort to get the family back on their feet.
Ford said donation of all kinds are welcome, and the family will need houshold goods, clothes and other items. The Steele’s have two daughters, ages 7 and 1 1/2-years-old and two sons, ages 5 and 3-years-old.
Ford stated he is renting a U-Haul truck to pick up donations Tuesday.
Ford can be reached at 509-629-0567. Donations can also be dropped off at the Prescott Community Church at 202 S. Second St., Prescott or by calling Angela Adams at 509-386-2981.
